This amazing lake lies on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and is in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu also empties into the Ruzizi River, which flows southwards into Lake Tanganyika. The lake is known for its great beaches in Rubavu- Rwanda, spectacular islands that have also boosted tourism in the area. The lake is also a proud home of some of the most amazing accommodations in Rwanda with great breathtaking scenic views. Get to enjoy fishing activities as you interact with the local fishing communities, of cause that goes without saying Lake Victoria; another great lake is the fishing capital of East Africa, the lake is known for fish such as Nile perch, Tilapia among other species.
Lake Victoria is one of the African Great Lakes. With a surface area of approximately 59,947 km², Lake Victoria is Africa's largest lake by area, the world's largest tropical lake, and the world's second-largest fresh water lake by surface area after Lake Superior in North America.
